To his surprise, no one was anywhere around. Deciding that it must have been his imagination, he started once again to push the plunger when he felt another tap on his shoulder. Again, no one was there, so he decided to move all the equipment several hundred feet back up the tunnel. When he finally set of the explosion, the whole top of the tunnel caved in exactly where he had been standing.
